Georgia Jones Godwin, a native-born Texan now resides in Mobile, Alabama. She has pursued several careers; including interior design, art instruction, and graphic artist for East Texas and Pacific coast newspapers. Godwin received her Masters of Fine Arts from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge in August 2014 and her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Ceramics from University of South Alabama in 2010. Her ceramic work has been published in two Lark Publication books, 500 Figures in Clay, Volume 2 and Ceramic Sculpture: Making Faces: A Guide to Modeling the Head and Face with Clay. Recent exhibitions of her sculptures and paintings include About Face: Contemporary Ceramic Sculpture at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery, Alabama and Life Leaves A Mark, solo exhibit at the University of Mobile, Mobile, Alabama. In addition to her studio practice, she teaches workshops and regularly participates in local arts and craft markets and regional multi-fandom comic conventions, selling one-of-a-kind sculptures and mixed-media caricature portraits.
